SAKE — THE ART OF PURPOSE 2025

£85.00

By ENDRIME® x Tonello

SAKE (pron. /seɪk/, sayk) is an interdisciplinary art project led by Sadia Rafique together with Mohsin Sajid (ENDRIME®️ and Denim History) and artist Matt Duckett in collaboration with Tonello, alongside Susan Zheng.

With support from global industry leaders—Cone Denim®️, Indigo Textile, Sharabati, Stella Blu, Tusa Denim, YKK and 496 Fabric Lab— with special thanks to Kingpins Show. SAKE — THE ART OF PURPOSE took place for the third consecutive year at Kingpins Show in Amsterdam in October 2025.

SAKE explores multidisciplinary techniques, including Tonello’s lasering, innovative wash-and-dye processes, as well as printing methods and jacquard weaving. New works of art incorporate a range of techniques, including hand-painted and hand-drawn elements, photography, marbling, digital art, AI, and animation.

The art created spans diverse mediums and themes, including references to Western culture in the early days of denim. And visualisations of the effects of sound healing, and exploring the concept of the duality of life. Mohsin Sajid produced the SAKE garments in-house, while Susan Zheng implemented an interactive AR experience.

Special thanks to Alice Tonello, Joanne Schouten and Vivian Wang for making SAKE — THE ART OF PURPOSE possible.

RRP £85
